"I dreamt I tore all the skin off my face and I was someone else underneath."
"THAT IS A LOVELY TIE, BY THE WAY."  I came across The Shadow on TV late at night recently and I just had to watch it again.  I realize it's not the kind of movie one should want to watch more than once.  I realize it could even be reasonably described as a bad movie.  But somehow, I have a soft spot for it, even with its many flaws.  Multiple clumsy dream sequences?  Check.  Slangily anachronistic dialogue?  Check.  Villain who kills his own henchmen and speaks in total seriousness of "ruling the world"?  Check.  Brassy fast-talkin' dame?  Check.

Cigarette-smoking billboard?  Yer damn skippy.

Indefensible, I know.  Maybe I'm just a sucker for anything involving fedoras.
